Sean Hopwood: One of the Best CEOs for Diversity and Women

We’re glad to announce that Day Translations’ CEO and founder, Sean Patrick Hopwood has been awarded by Comparably as one of the best CEOs for diverse teams, and as one of the best CEOs for women.

Comparably is a Santa Monica company founded in 2005 with the mission of “Providing the most accurate and comprehensive compensation and culture data, to understand employees’ true value and needs to make work better.” They do this through their website, to which employees from all industries can anonymously report their salary and review the company they work in. This produces a substantial database into working conditions across industries, companies, and cities.

Best CEO Award by Comparably


We’re proud to be in the top 5% of similarly sized companies when it comes to culture and working environment. We have received a diversity score of 94/100, and have been rated  93/100 by our female members.

As Jason Nazar, CEO of Comparably, explained: “We take a data-driven approach to show how specific demographics of employees rate their CEOs so that workplaces are dramatically more transparent and rewarding. Comparably’s Best CEOs for Diversity awards recognizes leaders who create cultures that support and encourage employees of color, providing a positive framework for other executives to model.”

These awards are a consequence of genuine insights provided by Day Translations’ employees and ex-employees.

When reached out for commentary, Mr. Hopwood said:

I remember when I was in college, I would sit outside of the library for hours on end, speaking with people from around the world. I would gain so much insight and knowledge from listening to their stories. In the following years, I would travel the world, to Morocco, Spain, The Netherlands, Colombia and more, learning about different cultures. I have always shown an interest in other cultures, languages, and customs.

I feel like everything that I have done has led me to this point. I have lived my life in an international way and I run Day Translations accordingly: internationally. I want our company to be known as an international, culturally-sensitive and progressive organization that is able to help anyone in the world. I will keep striving to achieve all of our goals, not only for me but also for all of my colleagues whom I care for and respect.
